 Horror conventions - Horror films usually are set in dark and lonely places, with lowki lighting and scary atmosphere. The editing can be slow at some points to build tension and can be fast to make a jump scare. Loud noises are also found in jump scares.  Adverts -  Cadbury's gorilla advert - the memorable advert contains a gorilla drumming. The advert has a long pause where there isn't much happening, then slowly pans out to show a gorilla playing the opening to a famous Phil  Collins song. It uses a soft selling technique so the audience stays engaged to find out why the gorilla is drumming and what the advert is promoting. The background of the set is purple, the same color as for the brand that is on the packaging, this is done so when you see the colour purple, people will think of cadburys. werther's original advert- The advert opens will caramel trickling, it looks warm and delicious to entice customers. This is my media production blog where I will showcase the planning evidence for my AS production work. My brief for this year is to create four 15 second commercials for a new horror/ or sci-fi TV channel.         Kuleshov experiment - Our first editing task was to look at how cutaways can change the context of a shot and construct different meanings and representations, as an example we watched a video of Hitchcock explaining the effect as he looks and smiles at a mother and child, then shows him smiling at a women in a bikini, which changes the context. The scene showed a boy smiling and laughing and cuts to multiple shots, such as someone getting beaten up, someone landing a skateboard trick and someone urinating. All these cuts put different context on the boy laughing and make him look different at what he's smiling at.  continuity task- For this task we were told to demonstrate how we could film and edit a short scene, but make the continuit...
